My Approach

At Grace & Growth Counseling, PLLC, I am dedicated to creating a safe and supportive environment for my clients. I believe in the power of counseling to foster personal growth and improve overall well-being. I am an experienced counselor that is committed to helping clients navigate life's challenges with empathy and understanding.

About Me

Hi, I’m Toshia Munoz, M.Ed., LPC Associate, supervised by Vicki Sears, LPC-S. I have a deep passion for walking alongside individuals and families through seasons of growth, healing, and transformation.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 16 years in education—11 years as an elementary school teacher and 5 years as a middle school counselor. These experiences gave me a strong foundation in working with children, adolescents, and families, and helped shape my compassionate, strengths-based approach to counseling.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, I support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, behavioral and emotional challenges, relationship challenges, and more. I believe in creating a safe, respectful space where clients feel heard, empowered, and supported on their journey.

Outside the counseling room, I enjoy the outdoors and spending time with my family—especially taking small trips to the Guadulupe River or lakes in the Texas Hill Country. Those quiet, beautiful moments remind me of the importance of connection, peace, and restoration—values I strive to bring into my work with clients.

Education

I earned my Masters of Education in School Counseling from the University of St. Thomas in Houston in 2017, where I developed a strong foundation in child and adolescent development, behavioral interventions, and solution-focused counseling techniques.

After working in the school system for over a decade, I continued my training through the University of St. Thomas LPC Program, completing advanced coursework and practicum experience required for licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in Fall 2024.

This dual background in both education and mental health uniquely equips me to understand the challenges children, teens, and families face—both at home and in academic settings—and to provide informed, compassionate care rooted in real-world experience.
